Stewardship
2008
We have now
completed the second phase of the
Stewardship process. At the recent working
party meeting, it was decided to seek your
views on the process up to this time.
Instead of
a homily today, you will be asked to
complete an evaluation form. If for any
reason, you cannot complete the form, you
are asked to complete it as soon as possible
and return it next week in the collection
plate. All completed forms will be processed
and the results of your opinions will be
published in September. Thank you for your
co-operation in this important matter.
Summer
Fair
Many thanks
to all those who worked on our annual summer
fair last weekend. The results of the prize
winners in the Grand Draw are overleaf. The
prizes are in the presbytery and they can be
collected after Mass any day.
‘Poems
and Pints’
An evening
on Saturday, 12th July at 7.30p.m. of music,
poetry and stories to say goodbye to Martin
Lewis who retires in July after 25 years at
Oaklands School. To book a seat, telephone
(023) 9225 9214. All proceeds to the Rowans
Hospice. Licensed bar available.
Feasting
on Music
We were
favoured with a feast of music on Wednesday
evening with Crispin Ward on the piano. He
was at his best with verbal information on
some of the pieces he played.
Maureen
Thompson gave us visuals to go with the
music. It was a most inspiring experience.
Many thanks to Crispin and Maureen and to
those who turned out. We collected £170 for
CAFOD. Well done!
Congratulations
Congratulations to Stephen Hughes and Davina
Gale who were married in St. Joseph’s last
Wednesday.
Family
Fun Day
This new
idea for the parish was a great success. It
was very well attended and there was a real
family atmosphere which extended to the
whole pastoral area.
Many thanks to the Catenians for organising
the event, to the parents and children of
the 1st Holy Communion programme and to the
Confirmation candidates. The weather was
ideal too!
The day
raised £300 for the President’s charity, the
Portfield School for Autistic Children -
which is wonderful!
Mail
Drop
This week a
parish letter will be posted through every
door in Nutwick Road. Please pray for
everyone in this road.
A.P.F.
The annual
returns for St. Joseph’s parish for 2007
were £2,696. Many thanks for your generosity
and the continued efforts of all the
collectors.
