In Solidarity - today is Education Sunday, a
day of prayer for people involved in
education. Education is our opportunity to
live life to the full. Please pray for those
who serve in our community as well as those
children denied the gift of education across
the world.
Thank you for your gifts of food for the
food bank.
Catholic Education Sunday
We have many good reasons to mark Catholic
Education Sunday in England and Wales. It
has always been seen as missionary and an
integral part of the church’s work.
Not only are we blessed with many fine
buildings, financed by the generosity and
vision of those gone before us in faith but
we are currently blessed with many members
of staff who are dedicated to passing on the
faith to young people. Also worthy of
mention, is the generous commitment of many
parents who aim at getting the best for
their children.
We welcome the pupils of St. Thomas More’s
School at our 9.00am Mass today. They are
the special people in school uniform.
Prayers Requested
Please pray for Maria Taylor who is
seriously ill in St. Richard’s Hospital.
Please also pray for Michael Dean who has
received a date for his surgery and for
Daphne Byrne who was 90 years young last
Thursday. Please also remember in your
prayers Joyce Dempsey who is undergoing
surgery at St. Richard’s.
This Tuesday’s Mass
Please note that because of Margaret
Gordon’s funeral Mass in St. Joseph’s, there
will be no Mass at Emsworth this Tuesday,
7th.
Humour

There will be a retiring collection this

Thought for the Day
Despite the demands made upon his time, or
perhaps because of them, Jesus found time to
go to a lonely place and pray. His power and
strength came not from himself but from the
Father. At our worship today we too draw our
strength from a God whom we need when we are
at our busiest.
